Mini-shops.... not impressed with deals lately.

I've done a few mini-shops over the last 2 Sundays, mostly at CVS.

Last weekend I received a $5 off a $20 purchase coupon in my email from CVS. It expired Sunday so I looked up the deals to see if anything was worth going for. Well, I saw that you got free Allegra by way of paying $6.99 OOP and getting $6.99 back. I coupled that with my raincheck from a few weeks back for 6 for $20 Pepsi products.

I got 6 12-packs of Pepsi Max & (the last in the store!) box of Allegra. My total before coupons was $26.99. After a $2 coupon for the medicine and $5 CVS coupon, my total was brought down to $19.99. I spent $19.99 OOP, and I got back $6.99 ECB(for Allegra), $10 (for Pepsi Max) and $1 for my 4th use of my bag tag. So in all, I really only spent $2 since I earned $17.99 in ECB!

Today I went back to burn up some of those ECB for more items that pay back in ECB. I got a Colgate 360 toothbrush (on sale for $2.99, rg. $4.89 - gives back $2 ECB), and Skintimate shave gel $3.49 (gives back $2.50 ECB). I also added a copy of today's paper for more coupons. My total was $8.48, I used $1 coupon off toothbrush (April All You Mag.) & $.55 off Skintimate shave gel (also, April All You). My new total was $6.93 + tax, I used $6.99 ECB from last Sunday's Allegra purchase and I only owed 39 cents OOP today, and I got back $4.50 in ECB.

I also went to Bi-Lo for FREE Gain fabric softener sheets (on sale for $2.99, using $3 off coupon = FREE), but they were out. I grabbed a raincheck and was told at Customer Service that even if my coupon expires (next week 3/31), then with the RC, they will honor the coups since they were out of that item today when the coupon was valid. NICE!!! That's a really good tip! Well, I continued my little list with Tostito's new Artisan blend chips. I had a 55 cents off coupon, and they were on sale this week for BOGO (half off $3.99), so my coupon doubled to $1.10 and I got the chips for 89 cents! That's an unreal deal there! I also got a roll of Mentos. I don't eat candy, but I like making money off of deals and these were on sale for 50 cents. I had a 50 cents off coupon from the newspaper and so it doubled to $1.00 which I put towards the purchase of a can of spaghetti sauce that was on sale for $1. My grand total OOP at Bi-Lo: $1.89. NOT BAD!

Please be sure to share any deals that you find with me and I will continue to do the same with you!

Until then - happy saving!

A 76% savings weekend!

I spent $39.81
I saved $125.94
The value of all items is $165.61.
I also have $5.99 in ECB at CVS remaining and I am submitting my TheraFlu for a mail-in-rebate, so that's included in the OOP and savings above!

I went to Publix twice (was going for the $10 off grocery when you buy $50 gas gift card. GOOD DEAL! I have to pay full price for gas anyway, so I might as well save on something while doing so! I also went to Walgreen's (4 baby shrimp raincheck 2 for $3 (reg. price = $3.69 EACH!), CVS and Bi-Lo!

Here are the pics of what I bought.. I used a combination of internet printed coupons, newspaper inserts and coupons from AllYou Magazine (TOTALLY worth the subscription if you don't already get it. I think I paid $10 for the year, and have already saved more than $30 in coupons from it!)

Let me know if you have any questions, I am to tired to type everything out!

So - until next time, happy saving!

Until then - happy saving!
